The Bridges-McKellar House on Oakland Street, near Hope Street was placed at number 2 on the Top Ten List of Most Endangered Historic Sites in Louisiana by the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation in 2008.


It is built in 1885 in the Queen Anne style and was the home of the 31st Mayor of Shreveport, Reuben Neil McKellar. It was also the first home in Shreveport to have forced central air conditioning.
